THEARITH CHAN

Thearith Chan (T. Chan) is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer with 15 years of experience and also the owner of Evolution Fitness. His story begins as the ugly duckling, while growing up he was always the shortest or skinniest guy in the room. To make things even worse, he had braces and severe cystic acne. He was very insecure and always had confidence problems. All of his self-manipulated imperfections led to severe depression and he was later prescribed medication.

 

After numerous years of battling with himself, he finally got out of this slump he was in, leaving the dark past behind. He started to seriously engage in working out and came to the realization that working out gave him a permanent high and it wasn’t fake or temporary. There wasn’t a need for prescription medication – his love for fitness was his newest prescription, and it was a healthy addiction.

 

Years passed by and here he is now, leading by example, sharing his fitness passion and helping his clients to increase their quality of life. T. Chan enjoys working with all types of fitness levels with or without metabolic diseases/fitness injuries. He works at your pace and is not here to frown upon your weaknesses. He will encourage you and hold your hand through every fitness obstacle you will encounter. As your trainer and the owner of Evolution Fitness, he understands that each client has a struggle and believes that everyone can get through every obstacle with a little patience and motivation. He will assure you that each client that comes in contact with him or any of his trainers will get a personal training session that is a life-changing experience. It will be an experience that you will want to rave to your family and friends about.

KRISTEN NEWMAN

Kristen Newman is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and Registered Nurse BSN, RN.  Kristen graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and has been a nurse for 12 years.  Kristen was an athlete all through high school playing volley ball, and running track & field. She began weight lifting during her last year of high school. Kristen played intramural volleyball in college and continued to weight lift. After college, Kristen began the sport of body building with the mission to compete in a fitness show. Kristen competed in the bikini tall class for WBFF. Kristen has worked hard to put muscle on her tall frame and understands the challenge of building muscle with proper nutrition. Kristen continues to train with a bodybuilding style as her own workout program. She enjoys heavy weight lifting

.

During Kristen’s career as a nurse, she has held a variety of positions ranging from medical surgical nursing to psychiatric/ mental health nursing. She has worked with a range of patients with vast medical diagnoses. With her nursing knowledge, Kristen is able to assist clients with nutrition as well as planning workout programs around medical conditions.

 

Kristen’s passion for fitness has made her want to share this love with her clients. As your trainer, she understands the challenge of each body type. Kristen enjoys working with a range of clients including age and fitness level. She understands the difficulties of starting a new workout program. With her high energy and diverse experience, she will set you up to succeed.  Kristen’s experience in the nursing field has provided her with unique knowledge about the body. She will motivate you to stick with your plan and reach your goals!

LYSATHTHA IN (LEE)

Lysaththa In aka Lee is an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer, born and raised in Providence Rhode Island. Lee spent the majority of his earlier years working as a career chef, always striving to improve and learn from different culinary experts. From sushi chef, hibachi, farm to table and steakhouse’s, he has pretty much worked every position in the kitchen. After many years Lee decided to dabble in different career paths, solely for the purpose of evolving in an ever changing time, retail sales associate to construction laborer.

 

After many years of ignoring his physical and mental health, it started to take its toll on him. That’s when he decided to redirect his path in life and focus on improving his fitness and health. One big motivation that inspired Lee into fitness was being trained under the guidance of Thearith Chan (T. Chan). After training with T. Chan, Lee went on to further educate himself throughout the years on all things fitness and health. Participating in 5k’s, yoga classes, boot camp style classes, powerlifting, bodybuilding, and one day hopes to compete in men’s physique.

 

With all the experience, traumas and obstacles Lee has faced, he can proudly say fitness has forever changed his life. He strives to inspire and motivate all he encounters, to have him on your side as your trainer will tremendously improve not just your health, but also the confidence. Lee knows what it’s like to struggle towards self-improvement, and what it takes to get there.

MATTHEW PREZIOSO

Matt Prezioso is an ACSM Personal Trainer and CSCS Strength Coach who is passionate about understanding the body on its most functional level. With a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, and over 15 years of weight training experience, he teaches people on how to train beyond just aesthetics. It’s all about getting stronger, performing better, and feeling great.

 

As a child, Matt struggled with overeating, and as a result was bullied because of weight problems. When he was entering 5th grade, he switched school systems, and his social anxiety got the best of him. He began to eat more and became less active and less social. To make matters worse, his doctor repeatedly reminded him that he was overweight. When he was 13 years old, the doctor declared Matt morbidly obese, and smugly said to him, “What are going to do about it?” In that moment, Matt decided he would not become another obesity statistic, and he immediately commenced his fitness journey. Though there have been injuries along the way, the knowledge and insight Matt gained from these experiences have taught him how to recover stronger and quickly get back on track to making forward progress.

 

Beyond college, Matt has been continuing his education. He’s been mentored by several different people of the industry in the area. Under their mentorship, he has developed trusting relationships with his clients and other professionals in his network. He continues to increase his network to connect and learn as much as he can from other professionals of the fitness & wellness industry.

 

When he is not training his clients, he trains in competitive power lifting through the USA Power lifting federation, and has the goal of competing at the highest level, and breaking a national record.

DESTINEE CHARETTE

Destinee is a NASM a certified personal trainer who has dedicated her career to helping women and men feel confident and comfortable in the gym. She discovered her love for fitness as a teenager when she’d workout during off seasons to stay in shape for softball. After graduation, she became more consistent with her workouts and began to educate herself on proper weight lifting/ exercise mechanics. When going to the gym with friends, she noticed that many of them weren’t as comfortable in the weights section and would often gravitate towards the back of the gym or cardio machines.

 

This realization ignited a fire in Destinee to make a difference. Her commitment to gaining the proper knowledge to use and help others, led her to become a Personal Trainer. While in the process of getting her personal training certification, Destinee worked at a local gym, helping to teach group classes and shadowing personal training sessions. Once certified, she began her journey as a personal trainer with a mission to empower and motivate women to achieve their fitness goals and feel more confident in the gym setting.

 

In addition to her certification and experience, Destinee is also a friendly and approachable trainer who takes pride in creating a supportive and encouraging environment for clients of all fitness levels. Her ultimate objective is to instill confidence in her clients, enabling them to enter any gym without hesitation. She is committed to empowering my clients and ensuring that they leave each session feeling motivated, self-assured, and ready to conquer their fitness journey.

ROMINA MARINARO

Romina Marinaro is a NASM certified personal trainer with over 15 years of experience in working at commercial box gyms, private studios and group fitness. She takes education and fitness to exceptional standards and holds multiple nationally recognized certifications varying from corrective exercise, fitness nutrition, trx suspension training and pain free performance.

 

She specializes in working with clients who are high achievers in many parts of their lives and want to achieve similar success in their physical skills. She believes that the key to a healthy and balanced lifestyle is fueling the body with proper nutrition and consistent exercise.

 

Her positive attitude, motivational coaching, and excellent verbal skills is a formula for success. It has helped many of her clients achieve their personal goals of feeling and looking great. Having Romina as your trainer, is like having a best friend that will be by your side and never let you down!

HARRY PICKERING

Harry Pickering is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. He is born and raised in Warwick, R.I, this is where he honed his athletic skills playing every sport under the sun: basketball, baseball, soccer, hockey, track & field, football, volleyball, tennis and even rugby (you’ll have to ask him about his rugby story). Harry’s unique experience in the realm of sports led him to weightlifting & ultimately Evolution Fitness. He strives to motivate clients to understand that health & fitness isn’t just an hour you spend in the gym 3x a week, rather it is a way of life that helps fortify mind, body, & soul.

 

After graduating Rhode Island College with a B.A in Justice Studies w/a concentration in Accounting & Sociology, Harry advanced to becoming a Director of Finance for a company that operated across the U.S. Following a brief stint in the finance industry he found himself drawn to Evolution Fitness where he began his next chapter as a personal trainer.

 

Harry enjoys spending time with family, chasing his Jack Russell Terrier around, and engaging in various types of sports. One of his finest moment as a trainer was noticing his first client taking a selfie in the mirror towards the end of their workout. He is aware that everybody wants to be healthy, but there is occasionally a voice that prevents you from taking the necessary actions. Through discipline, hard work, and consistency he seeks to help you build healthy habits and maintain them.

JESSICA PERRY

Jessica Perry is an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer who truly enjoys helping individuals achieve results in a sustainable way, while educating them throughout their journey. Her story began in high school, where she dealt with rapid weight gain due to hormonal changes. As one can imagine, this caused some extreme insecurities, and she began weight training at the age of 15. Fast forward 10 years, and she dealt with a similar instance when she became pregnant with her precious son, Bo-Simon.

 

During Jessica’s pregnancy, she gained 75lbs. The physicians are not sure how or why it happened, but pregnancy was an incredibly tough time for her. She was incredibly grateful to have a healthy body that was growing a human, but her weight gain was rapid and uncontrollable, causing her to feel some resentment towards her own body. Throughout her pregnancy, many individuals made negative comments towards her and she used those comments as fuel. As soon as her physician cleared her, she immediately began working out again. She is currently 1 year postpartum and has lost all of her pregnancy weight by using sustainable methods that fit into her schedule.

 

Jessica prides herself on providing each client with a sustainable plan, a safe space, and a full understanding that life happens. She firmly believes that as individuals we don’t always share that same 24-hour day. Her goal is to educate her clients along the way so that one day, they won’t need her assistance and can continue on their fitness journey!
