THEARITH CHAN

Thearith Chan (T. Chan) is a certified personal trainer and also the owner of Evolution Fitness. His story begins as the ugly duckling, while growing up he was always the shortest or skinniest guy in the room. To make things even worse, he had braces and severe cystic acne. He was very insecure and always had confidence problems. All of his self-manipulated imperfections lead to severe depression and then was later prescribed medication.

 

After numerous years of battling with his self, which was his worst enemy. He finally got out of this slump he was in and left the dark past behind. He started to seriously engage in working out and came to the realization working out gave him a permanent high and it wasn’t fake or temporary. There wasn’t a need for prescription medication, his love for fitness was his newest prescription, it was a healthy addiction.

 

Years past by and here he is now, leading by example, sharing his fitness passion and helping his clients increase the quality of life. T. Chan enjoys working with all types of fitness levels with or without metabolic diseases/fitness injuries. He works at your pace and is not here to frown upon your weaknesses. He will encourage you and hold your hand through every fitness obstacle you will encounter. As your trainer and the owner of Evolution Fitness, he understands that each client has a struggle and believes everyone can get through every obstacle with a little patience and motivation. He will assure you that each client that comes in contact with him or any of his trainers, will get not only get a personal training session but a life changing experience. It will be an experience that you will want to rave to your family and friends about.

JONATHAN VASQUEZ

Jonathan Vasquez is an ISSA certified personal trainer who absolutely understands how it feels to be on both sides of the fence. Growing up originally in Los Angeles, California and then later moving to Rhode Island, he was known as the fat kid, that had struggled with his weight. Now he is known as the fit guy that everybody wants to be around or have as their trainer. His love and passion towards fitness, made him change his lifestyle around and obtain a career in personal training. If there’s anyone who understands overcoming an obstacle and transformation, it is him.

 

Having Jonathan as your trainer means that he will give you 100% of his dedication to assure his clients reach their individual fitness goals. Besides being a personal trainer, he recently finished college and got a associates degree in law enforcement.

LORI BERNARD

Lori Bernard graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Quinnipiac College (now University) in Hamden, CT. Since graduation, she has practiced as a licensed Occupational Therapist throughout New England and North Carolina. As an OT, she has helped numerous individuals with various medical conditions and injuries achieve their optimal level of function .

 

During her career as an Occupational Therapist, she was recognized an urgent need for disease prevention and pursued her personal training certification through ISSA (International Sports Sciences Association). She also earned a certificate in fitness and nutrition and is a certified TRX Suspension Training Instructor. Lori currently works as a Fitness Trainer who addresses both the physical and psychological aspects of wellness with her clients.

 

Lori has been involved in the sport of natural bodybuilding for over 20 years and has competed in the INBF (International Natural Bodybuilding & Fitness) organization. She has also practiced kenpo karate and kickboxing. She lives an active lifestyle and has participated in various events such as the MS 150 bike ride, The Blessing of the Fleet road race, and a Rugged Maniac obstacle course mud run, just to name a few. Her newest interest is in stand up paddle boarding.

 

Her education and experience qualify her to help everyone. Whether you are recovering from an injury or looking to be a competitive athlete, she will be there to assist you with your goals. She believes that everyone has their own level of “fitness” and it is her desire to help you achieve YOUR PERSONAL BEST through customized exercise and nutrition programs, education, continued support, and encouragement.

SY PIRES

Sy Pires is an ACSM certified personal trainer and a graduate from URI with a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology. In his younger years he was insecure with his body because he was a pretty chubby kid and was often called “fatboy” or joked about because of his large head. Even though these were jokes, Sy took them to heart and let it affect the way he felt about his body. During high school he played football, basketball, and volleyball and ended up losing most of the weight that he despised, but it wasn’t good enough.

 

A month after graduating high school in 2010 is when he started lifting. He was in the gym 3-4 days a week on top of playing volleyball 2-4 times a week, never missing more than a week at the gym. Within his first year is when he started seeing results from the gym and became obsessed with them along with the awesome body high that lifting gave him. To this day he is still consistent with his lifting and volleyball schedule.

 

Due to Sy’s obsession with lifting and loving the results he got from it, he decided to pursue a degree in Kinesiology and became an ACSM certified personal trainer. As a trainer, Sy understands what it means to someone to really want to achieve a fitness goal or make a healthy lifestyle change. As long as you have a goal in mind and are ready and willing to put in the work, he will make sure that you achieve that goal.

BRIANNA CARDILLO

Brianna is an AFAA certified personal trainer that is passionate about helping you reach your fitness goals. She began her personal fitness journey at the age of fifteen, learning alongside her aunt that owned a gym and was a personal trainer. She began a lifestyle of being healthy, fit, and active. Although she was learning proper lifting techniques with her aunt, she spent most of her time running. It was not until a couple years later that Brianna began lifting weights regularly. Ever since this transition she has managed a balanced routine; she enjoys trying new workout regimens and is always up for a challenge.

 

Prior to Evolution Fitness, Brianna worked as a trainer for one of the largest health club chains in the country where she regularly worked with a variety of clients of all ages and abilities. Throughout her 7 years of being AFAA certified, she has also received her Group Training Certification. In her spare time, Brianna enjoys being active outdoors.

 

Brianna believes that fitness is good for mind and body; for truly great results in all areas of your life, you need a sound mind and a healthy body. Fitness has helped her build energy that makes it possible to go after her goals. Brianna gives 100% effort in helping her clients achieve their results.

TYLER MELLO

Tyler is an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer as well as a Functional Strength Coach and Corrective Exercise Specialist. Growing up he was the tall skinny kid that was never taken seriously and only good for a laugh. Committed to changing his image he began weight training regularly. The more he learned about exercise and nutrition the more he realized how much misinformation there was out there.

 

There are a lot of people out there blindly following fad diets and bogus exercise plans and curious as to why they are not obtaining the results they desire. In a field filled with myths, he aims to be the light in the darkness, teaching others sustainable and enjoyable ways to obtain their fitness goals.

 

He has been through the trial and errors and finds enjoyment helping others to skip that step and get on the right track. Using research based scientific principles and a set system of progressions and regressionsfor movement patterns; he prides himself on the variability of his client base. He will go the extra mile to ensure his clients are achieving the results they desire ranging from general population weight loss and improving quality of life to sport specific training and bodybuilding. RYAN IRVING

Ryan graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a BS in Kinesiology and a focus in Exercise Science.  He is currently certified as a personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine.  Ryan also serves as a skills instructor to aspiring personal trainers at MTTI.

 

Ryan’s purpose in training is to completely understand each client’s unique and individual needs in order to create a personalized approach.  With effective and open communication your goals become his!  Ryan’s hope is that though gaining an adept understanding of the human body and psychology, he will be able to help each client solve the potential puzzle of reaching his/her goal.

 

When working with Ryan you can expect to push beyond your perceived limitations, improve your knowledge of fitness, connect, and most importantly have fun!

KELSI GOTAUCO

Kelsi Gotauco is a NASM certified personal trainer and is extremely motivated when it comes to helping others accomplish and maintain their fitness goals. Her background starts off as working in health care as a nursing assistant. Her empathy and passion for helping her patients transitioned into pursuing a career in becoming a personal trainer.

 

Her love for fitness all started when she wanted to compete in a fitness competition but never felt confident enough to do so. Kelsi knew that if she really wanted to compete it was going to take a lot of hard work and consistency. When she realized that her dedication to fitness was beginning to pay off she made the decision to commit herself to her first competition in April of 2016 where she took first place in the open class, first place in debut and second place in novice.

 

Kelsi now thoroughly enjoys living a healthy lifestyle and she undeniably believes that her fitness journey has helped her gain one of her greatest accomplishments, becoming a New England Patriots Cheerleader!

 

No fitness goal is too small or too big for her, she will give you the attention and dedication you need. Kelsi knows how difficult it can be to balance a busy life style while trying to stay on track. If you put your trust in Kelsi to progress you towards your health and fitness goals you can expect her to guide you every step of the way to achieving your optimal results!

MIRANDA LOVETT

Miranda Lovett has been a certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) since 2013. She recently graduated from the University of Rhode Island in August of 2016 with her B.S. in Nutritional Science earning a summa cum laude designation. Prior to Evolution Fitness, Miranda was a personal trainer at one of the nation’s largest health club chains where she worked with a variety of clients of different ages, fitness levels, and goals.

 

Having struggled with body image issues during much of her teenage years, Miranda decided to change her mindset and take action. As she had never participated in sports as a kid, this was a new venture into unknown territory for her- she is no stranger to how intimidating the weight room can initially feel. She began her journey into the realm of fitness by purchasing P90x and completing home workouts in her living room. As the love for training grew, she bought her first gym membership and soon thereafter began her career as a competitive power lifter. Miranda competes on both the local and national level, holding state records in the 52kg and 57kg weight classes. She medaled 5th place at USAPL Raw Nationals 2015 in the 52kg junior class.

 

Miranda believes in learning to love your body at all stages along the way of your fitness journey. She emphasizes having non-physique related goals because while you should have confidence in how you look, there’s something to be said for being proud of the things your body can physically accomplish. She believes in setting training and nutrition goals to fit your lifestyle. The more realistic goals are, the easier they are to adhere to, which creates lasting progress. Training with Miranda means that you will be empowered to reach the best version of YOU.
